MEET MEGHAN

Art of Listening

My practice combines the latest evidence based research and over fifteen years of clinical experience.

I am fascinated with the recent advances in Pain Science and holistic approaches to health.

I value the art of listening.

Through the years, I have learned that people instinctively know what their body needs.

Sometimes they need a quiet space to listen. Sometimes they need a little help interpreting.

But ultimately, the teacher lives within.

The Journey to Holistic Health

BOSTON UNIVERSITY

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Health Sciences 2003

Master of Science in Physical Therapy (M.S.P.T) 2005

AUSTRALIA, NEW YORK CITY, RHODE ISLAND, AND MASSACHUSETTS

Internships in acute care, sub-acute rehab, rehabilitation facility, and outpatient therapy.

FIRST JOBS

My first PT job in 2005 was at a fast paced sports clinic.

As a former competitive athlete, I thought this would be a great fit.

However, I felt the absence of inter-personal connection with my patients.

At the same time I worked per diem at a Harvard University teaching hospital in Cambridge, MA.

I took a full time job there in 2006, where I had more time to spend with patients and began to learn the power of listening.

WASHINGTON STATE

I moved to Washington State in 2008 and was fortunate to find a private practice that valued the patient experience.

They gave me freedom to explore my interests and grow.

HOLISTIC CARE

The Medical Therapeutic Yoga (MTY) training program introduced me to the parallels between ancient Yoga wisdom and modern Science.

MTY integrates breath, mind and body for overall health.

The Whole Person

In Medicine:

The Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual model looks at the whole person.

In Yoga:

The Koshas (sheaths) brings awareness to the 5 aspects of the Self.

Encouraging awareness of the Self beyond the physical sheath empowers people to find contentment and wellness.

Helping People

I love helping people.

I am honored to guide and teach and share my knowledge.

And I am grateful to find a passion in my work, in planting seeds of change and health.

"The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”
